Jeanie Sedivy


Grew Up at:  
    Chadron, Nebraska
 
I attended Chadron Public Schools.  Graduated from Chadron High in 1976.  Attended Chadron State College (we called it Dawes County U) in 1976-78. 
 
Years at AUMC:  
    Our Family was struggling at the church where we were attending.  I had mentioned this to a very dear friend; Carla Block, she encouraged us to visit UMC, we did & fell in love with the Church and the Church Family. 
    We decided to make the ultimate commitment as a family & joined while Rev. Mark Schutt was the Pastor. 
    It is awesome to be part of the UMC Family!  The Lord is Alive & Active here!!  I would encourage all folks who do not have a Church Family already; to come & visit anytime!
 
Years in current position at AUMC: 
    I started as Programming Director October 18, 1999.  My job description has changed; so I am now Church Family Ministries Coordinator.
 
Best thing about your job at AUMC: 
    Coming to work every morning & having the opportunity of being able to serve the Lord!  You never quite know from day to day how he is going to use you; so there is something new to do daily.  It is NEVER the same old thing!  PRAISE GOD!   
    Seeing the wonderful growth in the Lord by our Church Family.  This is truly the Friendliest Church in our community. (Okay, I am probably a little partial but...we are truly growing in Christ & it SHOWS!) 
 
Favorite Bible Verse and why:
    "Be still and know that I am God."
    Anyone who knows me, knows I can visit.  It is a downfall.
But, it is so important to know that we need to rely on God for all things, especially Patience, which I lack.  So, I need to quiet down and let Him talk.
 
Favorite Hymn:
    Here I Am, Lord
    If He wants me to go and serve Him elsewhere - With His Guidance I would do it!  I would take a Leap of Faith that He would lead me!
 
Note from Jeanie:
    God blessed me with My Best Friend for 26 years now; my Husband, Warren.  We were also blessed with 2 sons Justin and Matthew.  Justin got married and gave us our 1st daughter, Amanda.  She is a super addition to our Family & we have a lot of fun!
    For relaxation Warren and I fly fish.  We love to go where there is no one else except God and His wildlife!  It is so nice to just focus on being with the Lord in His wilderness and enjoy His canvas He painted special for all of us to experience.
   
    Life is short...enjoy everyday as it is a true Gift from God!
          Always think:  Have I made Jesus Smile today?
