Sunday Meeting Day! The first Sunday of each month is Sunday-Go-To-Meeting Day! The Trustees, Education, Missions, Finance, Worship, Memorial & Evangelism committees will meet right after the 10:30 service. Worship Committee Membership, Growth and Nurture Committee To enhance the present and future membership of Alliance United Methodist Church through the promotion of prayer, fellowship and activities that nurture current membership and promote membership growth. We believe that having a strong church family is a vital part of encouraging each individual in their walk with Christ. By promoting activities encouraging prayer, fellowship and attendance, such as Grace Cafe, Small Group Studies, Prayer Groups and use of the Prayer Room we can help people in their spiritual journey. Nurturing and enhancing our membership through recognition of birthdays, special events, delivering meals, and calling on visitors are other ways that we can encourage our membership to grow as a Church Family and help others to realize that as brothers and sisters in Christ we are there for each other and all things are possible. Board of Trustees Function- To maintain the properties of the Alliance United Methodist Church for the purpose of supporting the spiritual lives of its members and evangelizing to others. Missions Committee Function-This committee helps to fund mission activities such as Camp Norwesca, Friends of Jesus, and missionary work overseas. Evangelism Committee Function-This committee works to promote the spiritual growth of new and existing members. Staff-Parish Relations Committee Education Committee Function-The UMC Education Committee guides the educational program in the life of the church, nursery through adults. It recruits teachers for Sunday school classes and other educational programs while overseeing the education budget and ordering materials for educational use in the church. It promotes and encourages the participation of all church members in a Sunday school class. It organizes Sunday School Kickoff Sunday (with the assistance of the Worship Committee) each September and Celebration Sunday each May. Elevator Committee Function-To raise funds to install an elevator and handicapped accessible rest room. Finance Committee Function-Provides a time line for budget development for the church. Receives program funding proposals from all church agencies. Compiles an annual budget for recommendation to the Administrative Council and the annual Church Conference. Plans and promotes an annual finance campaign to meet the needs of the budget. Recommends procedures for the receipt and accounting of church funds and provides for an annual audit of those funds. Promotes the stewardship of all resources in the life of the church. Memorial Committee Function-To distribute memorial funds given to the church. Nominations Committee Function-To nominate candidates to fill positions on committees. |
